The Finley Football Netball Club is thrilled to have one of our own return home, with Jack Sexton appointed as our Senior Playing Coach for the 2026 & 2027 seasons. Jack came through our junior program before carving out an impressive playing career:
2017–2021: Yarrawonga
2020: Richmond VFL
2023–2025: Southport VFL
We’re so excited to see Jack back in the blue and white, this time leading from both on the field and in the coach’s box. With his experience at VFL and country level, a premiership with Southern Districts in season 2024-2025 in the NTFL, and his strong ties to our club, Jack is the perfect fit to guide and inspire our young playing group into the future. Welcome home, Jack – the Cats family can’t wait for the next couple of seasons under your leadership!
The Finley Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce that Will Sexton will return home in 2026 and pull on the Cats jumper once again! Like his brother Jack, Will is one of our own – coming through the FFNC junior program before going on to make his mark at higher levels of football. His playing journey is an impressive one:
2017–2022: Yarrawonga
2023: Northern Bullants (VFL)
2024–2025: Southport (VFL)
2024–2025: Southern Districts (NTFL) – Premiership player
Will has tested himself against some of the best talent in the country at VFL level, while also enjoying the ultimate success up north in the NTFL with Southern Districts. His return is a massive boost for our senior side – bringing skill, experience, and leadership, but also the passion of a local who knows exactly what it means to wear the blue and white. We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Will back to the Finley Football Netball Club in 2026, where he’ll once again represent the club where it all began. Welcome home, Will – the Cats family can’t wait to see you back out there!
assistant coach
The Finley Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Jack Yelland for the 2026 season! Jack brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Cats, having played with Coburg (2013–2015), West Coburg (2016–2018), Surfers Paradise (2019–2022), and most recently Wodonga (2023–2025). A strong and hard-working inside midfielder, Jack will not only strengthen our midfield group but also take on the role of Assistant Coach, helping to guide and develop our young and emerging players both on and off the field. We’re excited to have Jack, Molly, Tommy and baby number two join the Cats family for 2026!
2026 SEASON
With the 2025 season all but done for the FFNC, it’s time to look to 2026. We are excited to announce the re-signing of a number of our past seniors as well as the signing of several players moving from Juniors. Go Cats!
